History
In 1974 the company was founded as: J.Uil Shipping & Trading in Klaaswaal, Holland.
When the first owner started the partnership with Mr. G.J.Winterswijk in 1976 the name was changed into J.Uil-G.J.Winterswijk Shipping & Trading.
The first truck was bought, and the first driver was employed.
Due to the growth ,the company moved to a bigger office in the south of Rotterdam in 1977.
The company rapidly and by the end of 1977 the company moved again.
This time to the western portarea of Rotterdam.
In 1979 at the time of the 5 year jubilee, Henk Gieszen sr. joined the company and the name of the company was changed into the name it still has.
This jubilee was the start of the third move within a short period of time, and the company moved to the address where is still is.
In 1988 Mr. J.Uil sold his part of the company to Henk Gieszen sr. and the company was re-organized.
At the same time the firm specialized further in the"international forwarding and road traffic and their main activity : the "driver accompanied" groupagetraffic to and from Ireland.
In 1994 Mr. G. J.Winterswijk suddenly passed away, and Henk Gieszen sr. got the full ownership of the company.
In 2004 a part of the company came in the hands of Henk’s two sons, Henk jr. and Sander Gieszen.
Since that date Henk jr. is active as financial director of the company.
Bram den Boogert joins the company since 2006 as “managing director” and bought the remaining part of the company from Henk Giesen sr.
Shortly after this Henk sr. retired to enjoy his well earned rest.
The worldwide activities were developed in the following years and in 2008 market studies were completed
which are the basis on which the decisions are made for the future expansion and offices abroad, were completed.
On 1st April 2011 the "old" Rotterdam office was left and Winterswijk moved to their new office at the Eglantierbaan 65, in Capelle aan den IJssel
